Lodox Systems commissioned two new Xmplar-dr’s in the United Arab Emirates making the UAE its lead market in the Middle East. The two machines were installed at Rashid Hospital, Dubai and Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah.
Rashid hospital installed its first Statscan ten years ago and it has served as a showcase site by defining a trauma protocol that made best use of the machine and the Lodox solution. The trustworthy Statscan, after ten years of service, was replaced by our Xmplar-dr model and the hospital staff was very excited to receive their new ”baby”.
Rashid Hospital, administrated by the Dubai Health Authority, has contributed a great deal to the evolution of the Lodox solution, serving as its reference hospital in the Middle East. We are certain that this will continue with the Xmplar-dr.
The installation of the Xmplar-dr at Al Qassimi hospital is the first Lodox scanner employed by the UAE Ministry of Health (MOH). Lodox is very proud of the fact that the UAE MOH chose our solution to be used as the preferred trauma and emergency X-ray imaging solution in this hospital. Much care was taken to ensure that this first MOH installation was at an optimum location in the trauma department, easily accessible for patients arriving by ambulance and in very close proximity to the resuscitation rooms.
Dignitaries of the UAE MOH and the Hospital CEO officially accepted this very successful commissioning. Trauma personnel were amazed with the image quality and extreme user-friendliness of the system. The hospital’s faith in the Lodox technology was justified as soon as the first patient, a female in her twenties, was scanned and was found to have two fractures of the pelvis. This information was available minutes after her arrival while the physician, up to the stage of the imaging, had been convinced that her pain was caused by some upset in her abdomen.
During the visits to install the machines, train the personnel and to truly engage all its UAE Stakeholders, members of the Lodox team also focused on our other installations at the Sheikh Khalifah, Ras al Khaimah and Madinat Zayed hospitals. Lodox held a “Lodox Trauma Day” at Madinat Zayed Hospital,. The idea of the “Trauma Day” is to engage hospital stakeholders into the understanding of all benefits of the Lodox solution. Madinat Zayed hospital is at a remote location and the need to function in isolation is high. The Lodox team was led by one of its esteemed ambassadors, Professor Doctor Med Aristomenis Exadaktylos, Director of the Emergency Department, Inselspital, Bern. Prof Exadaktylos is a world-renowned clinician, with more than 150 international publications, many of these made possible by the use of the Lodox solution. The hospital personnel welcomed his very valuable input in the optimal use of the Lodox solution.
The Middle East is a challenging market, but we strongly believe that we have now conquered the UAE and will use it as our foundation into the surrounding countries. Lodox is very thankful for the support, persistence, and guidance of our UAE distributor.
